RICHARDSON, TEXAS — May 11, 2015 — Vertex, a leader in utility customer experience solutions, today announced it has been selected by the City of Dayton, Ohio as the new solution provider for utility billing services and management online services, including expanded e-solutions. Vertex’s cloud-based customer experience platform, VertexOne™, will enable Dayton to update its utility management services to meet its ever-changing customer needs.

“With VertexOne, our city will have more customer services tools than we’ve ever had before,” said Warren Price, city manager of Dayton.

“We’re thrilled to help the City of Dayton access the same best-in-class software benefits the large utilities use through our managed customer experience platform, VertexOne,” said Andrew Jornod, president of Vertex. “Because we can deliver the software as a service, our clients can focus on their customers – not the hassle of managing technology. With VertexOne, the City will receive an end-to-end managed service that will ensure best-in-class delivery, uptime and technical support.”

The VertexOne platform will support the City of Dayton in serving over 60,000 customer accounts, generating over 450,000 invoices and over $100 million in annual revenue. The City also has over 23,000 customers registered with paydaytonwater.com, its online portal for payment and customer services.

VertexOne will support utility bill printing and mailing services, online managing and payment services via the online portal, and other expanded e-solutions for the City of Dayton, Jefferson Township and the City of Riverside. The solution was selected from a review of seven vendor proposals, and stood out based on its costs, products and services, unique migration methodology and security and data management practices inherent in the VertexOne SaaS based platform.

“VertexOne was developed around the specific needs of midsized utilities. It removes the cost and complexity of conventional solutions while increasing customer satisfaction, and providing a consistent self-service and  multichannel experience,” said Jornod. “We look forward to helping the City of Dayton better respond to demand for expanded payment options and convenience, achieve operational efficiencies, streamline revenue flow and improve timely payment processes.”
